COLLEGE/CAREER

ICAP (Individual Career and Academic Plan)

It is never too early to start planning for college and your career.  At Jefferson Jr./Sr. High School, we start working with our students in 7th grade to have them learn about their opportunities after high school and how to best position themselves to be competitive in the job field of their choice.   We do this through a program called ICAP (Individual Career and Academic Plan).  Through this program our students prarticipate in a wide variety of classroom lessons and activities designed for students to explore who they are, what careers and colleges may be a good match for them and what they need to do in order to be accepted into the college/university of their choice.

The ASCENT (Accelerating Students through Concurrent Enrollment) Program is a partnership between Red Rocks Community College and Jefferson dedicated to providing students access to college.  Qualifying students have the option to participate in a fifth year program that allows seniors to remain enrolled in high school and take a fifth year consisting entirely of college classes at the Red Rocks Community College campus.  See your counselor for more information.
